Philips Hue Firmware Update

    Download the update

    You can find the latest firmware update for your Philips Hue bridge by visiting the support page on the Philips Hue website. Select your bridge, then scroll down to the “Downloads” section and click the “Download” button next to the “Firmware” entry.

    If you’re using a Mac, you’ll need to right-click the downloaded file and select “Show Package Contents” before double-clicking on the “Payload” file inside. On Windows, just double-click the downloaded file. Either way, a window will open asking if you want to update your bridge. Click “Update” and wait a few minutes for the process to complete.

    Your Philips Hue bridge should now be running the latest firmware.

    Unzip the files

    Next, you need to find the file that contains the firmware update. The file will be located in the extracted folder and will have a. bin extension. Once you have found the file, copy it to a USB drive.

    Now, you need to connect the USB drive to the Philips Hue bridge. The bridge is the central hub for the Philips Hue system and is what allows you to control your lights from your smartphone or tablet. Once the USB drive is connected, the bridge will automatically start the firmware update process.

    Once the firmware update is complete, you can now disconnect the USB drive and enjoy your updated Philips Hue system!

    Copy the files to the Hue bridge

    You’ll need to copy the files to the Hue bridge in order to update the firmware. The process is simple and only takes a few minutes.

    First, connect the Hue bridge to your computer using the USB cable. Then, open the file you downloaded and extract the contents to a folder on your computer. Next, open the “Philips Hue” folder and copy the ” bridge” and ” hue” files to the ” hue bridge” folder on your computer.

    Once the files are copied, you can disconnect the Hue bridge from your computer. The firmware update will begin automatically and will take a few minutes to complete.

    Check the firmware version

    You can check which firmware version your Philips Hue bridge is running. In the Philips Hue app, go to Settings > Bridge > Update. Your firmware version is listed under “Bridge software.” If there’s an update available, you’ll see a notification here.

    If an update is available, select Update and follow the on-screen instructions. The update process takes about 5 minutes.

    You can also check for updates from the Philips Hue support website. Go to the support page, select your bridge, and then look for the “Firmware” section.
