Why you need a Philips hue door sensor
If you want to be able to control your home’s lighting with your voice, then you need a Philips hue door sensor. This accessory allows you to use your voice to turn on/off your Philips hue lights, as well as set scenes and routines. The door sensor also allows you to control your lights when you’re away from home, so you can come home to a well-lit house.
How to install a Philips hue door sensor
Assuming you have a Philips hue bridge and lights set up and working, you can easily add a door sensor to the system. The first step is to download the Philips hue app and create an account. Once you have the app, open it and press the menu button in the top left corner. Select “Settings” and then “Accessory setup.”
Now, press the “+” button in the top right corner and select “Hue door sensor.” The app will now search for the door sensor. Once it finds it, select it and then press “Continue.”
The next step is to mount the door sensor. It should be mounted on the door frame, about six inches from the ground. Once it’s mounted, open the door and press the “Continue” button in the app.
The final step is to calibrate the door sensor. To do this, close the door and then press and hold the “Setup” button on the sensor for five seconds. The LED will start flashing green, which means it’s ready to be calibrated. Open the door and then press the “Continue” button in the app.
That’s it! You’ve now successfully installed your Philips hue door sensor.
